Paint is the
language
I speak
Born in Brownsville, TX to a family that emigrated from Mexico, I found art early and never let it go. I served in the US Army with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, then earned my BFA from the University of Houston.
My work is meditative and therapeutic, rooted in PTSD, cultural heritage, and the elemental essence of my Mesoamerican ancestors.

Artist Statement
"I challenge my viewer to look inward and find balance through the chaos."
My Practice
Impasto & Texture
I use excessive layering of paint and texture to create works that are unapologetically about the paint itself, a living breathing surface.
Mesoamerican Heritage
Inspired by the alebrijes de Oaxaca and the elemental forces — fire, earth, water, wind. I re-indigenize my practice through color and form.
Abstract Expressionism
Guided by feeling and intuition, I compose through color, letting my experiences narrate a tale that connects past and present.
